Let's talk about you As our Enterprise Cloud Engineer, you'll support developing and deploying solutions that meet or exceed the customers' technology requirements. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
An understanding of the telco industry.
Experience working in an engineer or equivalent role with VMware technologies is essential.
Experience working in an enterprise environment with mature incident, problem, change, and release management principles in place.
Experience building and managing cloud-based services, including cost management to ensure profitability.
VMware technologies including vSphere, vRealise Suite, VMware desktop virtualisation technologies, and preferably VMware Cloud Director, NSX-V and NSX-T.
Enterprise networking, data protection, disaster recovery, and security solutions.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technologies.
How will you support our "Why?" As our Cloud Engineer, you will put our values up in lights by delivering these activities and outcomes:
Providing a specialist presence – the ability to be the inward-facing technical specialist for Aussie Broadband's cloud capability, including acting as an escalation point.
Working as part of a team to design, build, and support additional services for the existing cloud platform.
Validating and providing input to the architecture of ABB's VMware based Cloud offerings and related automation services.
Reducing operational risk and improving the availability of the server and network infrastructure and services by ensuring system access, monitoring, control, evaluation, and documentation practices are maintained and adhered to (including of customer environments as appropriate).
Developing, maintaining, and undertaking operational procedures and ensuring operational tasks are performed reliably and consistently to reduce the risk of unplanned outages to ABB and customer cloud environments.
Anticipating and responding to customer requests which may require the rollout of new offerings or the customisation of existing offerings.
Researching and maintaining awareness of current Cloud strategies, policies, standards, and emerging technologies.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of customer operations.
Supporting the operation of Cloud platform components in test and production, staying on top of customer's reported issues, regularly communicating with the customer, account team, and platforms team.
