We are seeking experienced English Language, Literacy, Numeracy and digital literacy teachers to deliver classes at our campuses in Blacktown and Mount Druitt. Classes are delivered during school hours and generally 2 to 5 days a week. Whilst the position is advertised on a casual basis, full time or part time arrangements will be considered for suitable applicants.
Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) is a government-funded training program. It provides eligible participants with language, literacy, numeracy, career development and digital literacy training, to help improve their skills in English needed for work or for their studies.
The SEE Trainer will deliver high quality training to eligible participants in the SEE Program and comply with all ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) and Department of Employment & Workplace Relations (DEWR) requirements in relation to student files, policies and procedures.
To be considered for this position, candidates MUST have the following 3 qualifications and experience: TAE 40116 or TAE 40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment +TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 or a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education; A recognised Bachelor degree of at least three years' duration;A Post Graduate TESOL qualification or equivalent;At least 100 hours teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or Adult Literacy, Numeracy and Digital literacy during the last 3 yearsDemonstrated teaching capabilityDemonstrated recent contribution to the delivery of client-focused teaching and ongoing professional developmentDemonstrated ability to use key technology in classroom delivery and innovation in the adoption of technologies and applicationsDemonstrated ability to conduct assessments for the SEE program, using appropriate tools, eliciting information from clients and interpreting resultsAs well as the required qualifications and experience we are looking for skills to engage people from non-English speaking backgrounds and those facing barriers to employment. We want trainers that have a genuine passion for assisting students on pathways to sustainable employment and the ability to be flexible to the unique needs of our students. A high level of computer literacy is essential in this role.
You will be responsible for:
Delivering interesting and engaging classes for participants. Ensuring participants always adhere to DEWR Client Code of Conduct. Ensuring necessary provisions are made for participants with special needs. Maintaining administrative requirements including but not limited to: attendance, suspensions, withdrawals, reengagements, incidents/complaints, etc. Conducting assessments and pre-training assessment (PTA) when required.Adhering to all set rules, policies, and procedures of Macquarie Community College and compliance with applicable regulatory standards and contractual requirements.
