About the opportunity: Position: Engineering Tradesperson - Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic
Vacancy: Fixed term temporary full-time, up to 30/06/2027
Location: Townsville University Hospital
The Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic will undertake work on domestic, commercial and industrial Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning – Refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems including, planned preventive maintenance and minor works projects as required in the construction and maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment that support the THHS facilitation of safe, effective and sustainable healthcare services.
Generous remuneration package value up to $103,065 p.a. comprising:

Requirements: The following mandatory qualification and professional registration applies to this position:Queensland trade certificate in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration.Queensland Restricted Electrical Work Licence.C Class motor vehicle licence.Arctik Refrigerant Handling Licence.While not mandatory, the following professional registrations are considered highly desirable to this position:QBCC Mechanical Services – Occupational Licence.The position will be required to participate in the "ON-CALL" roster for the provision of 24/7 Building Engineering and Maintenance Services.This position is located at the Townsville University Hospital and may be required to travel throughout the Townsville HHS region including short trips away.This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted including Criminal History Clearance and Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.
