Engineering Manager wanted for National Tier 1 Electrical Construction Company. Manage a team across Iconic Electrical Construction Projects
THE COMPANY
Our client is a Tier 1, National Electrical Construction Contractor who are BOOMING in Australia. After a number of successful tender wins for major builders across the commercial construction, defence and healthcare sectors, 2024 and beyond is looking very busy for the company nationally. Due to unprecedented growth in their Electrical Commercial Construction division in WA, they are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their growing team in Perth.

THE ROLE
The Engineering Manager will be part of the WA Electrical team and will be responsible for the overall delivery and coordination of technical and engineering activities for the WA Client base and interstate clients when required.

This role will also be responsible for maintaining and developing long term relationships with all levels within the organisation currently and with prospective clients.

Key Accountabilities Collaborate with the senior management teams of the respective businesses to achieve the engineering outputs required Take lead responsibility for the delivery of robust and cost-effective designs for all projects. Manage the process to deliver designs which satisfies Client scope and technical requirements, which are inherently safe and practical to build within the project budget Lead, coach and develop our internal design/engineering and drafting team ensuring there is clear communication, direction and coordination Assist with the engagement of subcontractors/suppliers and sub-consultants including the preparation of scopes of service as required. Drive and manage performance of the design/engineering team to ensure milestones are achieved with high quality documentation Planning, programming and delivery of projects to satisfy the requirements of Quality Assurance guidelines, budget and project brief. Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and Company policies and processes Conduct technical reviews of completed design work to ensure accuracy and quality Cooperate and facilitate peer reviews and deep dives where required Prepare a Monthly Design Report which provides a status of the Project KPI's (Program Performance, Project Team Performance, Financial Performance). Provide support to the estimating team as required Design and implement Value Engineering Initiatives Attend sites on regular basis to carry out inspections and produce reports for internal review and actions. Assess subcontractor, supplier submissions in relation to technical compliance with building codes, standards and project requirements. Ensure compliance and leadership in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures at all times. Engineering Change Management (Variations, etc) Set department and project budgets and manage deliverables in accordance with the financial goals. ABOUT YOU Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the electrical or construction industry including HV commercial installations (HV submission experience preferred) Experience managing and leading projects from concept design to completion Demonstrated experience in Commercial Electrical Construction projects up to $50m will be highly regarded Strong communicator, client facing, ability to build, maintain and manage strong client relationships This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a thriving company working on major projects with recognised builders across Perth.
