Our Lihir operation in the Reliability, Planning and Compliance Department is now recruiting for the position of Engineer - Mechanical Reliability (Tanks & Tails) The role will have responsibility to: Ensures personal and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for Work.Completes any HSE tasks only if the hazards and any potential consequences are understood and any corrections are first agreed upon by the relevant Supervisor.Carries out general mechanical reliability engineering tasks in support of the assigned plant area under the direction of the Senior Engineer – Mechanical Reliability.Conducts fully detailed reliability reviews of nominated problematic/critical equipment, including first-principles reviews of the equipment maintenance strategies.Gathers knowledge of the plant circuits and problematic/critical equipment through personal observation and discussion with site staff, review of technical literature, discussions with OEM staff etc.During shutdowns and major repairs, attend jobs, gather component information, assist with QA, and conduct disassembly.Inspections including assessment of components for re-use and conducting own inspections to improve knowledge of internal componentry condition.Validates daily equipment performance data with daily/weekly inspections of problematic & critical equipment while running ensuring that adequate failure analysis methods are followed.5+ years relevant work experience essential in large-scale industry (Milling – Mining, Oil &Gas)Tertiary qualified Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualificationUse of various company & departmental systems including SAP, CMMS etc.Accreditation from the Institute of Engineers PNG Inc Practical mechanical aptitude and capabilities well suited to data processing, analysis, troubleshooting, cause-and-effect linkage etc.Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills.Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.Completion of short courses on reliability engineering methodologiesThe Requirements Must be open to FIFO in PNG.Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment.Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
