Engagement Officer

Selection Criteria Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of student learning and the capacity to respond to educational needs, initiatives and priorities pertaining to students at significant risk not successfully completing year 12 or equivalent. Demonstrated capacity to support young people who are at risk of, (or who have not) transitioning successfully from primary school to secondary school. Demonstrated ability to plan implement and evaluate engagement programs for disengaged students, including the ability to build the capacity of school based staff to work effectively with students at risk of disengagement. This will include liaison with appropriate stake holders in the development of these programs. Demonstrated excellent teaching and learning skills, and experience in establishing successful strategies to improve student learning outcomes for individual students at risk of not completing year 12 or equivalent. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise with schools and a wide range of support services within the education sector and beyond; and a capacity to work independently and effectively with school based teams. Demonstrated understanding of current education issues and Victorian Government priorities relating to disengaged children and young people. Role
