The Energy Policy and Economics Analyst will play a crucial role in analysing energy policies and economic factors, offering valuable insights to support decision-making. This role demands a robust understanding of energy markets and the ability to evaluate the economic impacts of various policies.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse Energy Policies: Conduct thorough analyses of existing and proposed energy policies to assess their potential impacts. Economic Modelling: Develop and utilise economic models to forecast market trends and policy outcomes. Market Research: Perform detailed research on energy markets, including supply, demand, pricing, and regulatory developments. Prepare Reports: Generate comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Monitor Trends: Continuously monitor global and local energy trends to identify emerging issues and opportunities. Policy Recommendations: Provide strategic recommendations based on policy and economic analyses to inform business decisions. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to gather information and present analyses. Support Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of strategic plans by providing economic and policy insights. Data Analysis: Collect, analyse, and interpret complex data sets related to energy markets and policies. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure analyses align with relevant regulatory requirements and standards. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with internal teams to integrate policy and economic insights into broader business strategies. Risk Assessment: Evaluate risks associated with policy changes and market fluctuations to support risk management strategies. Stay Informed: Keep abreast of new research, methodologies, and technologies in energy policy and economics. Support Advocacy: Contribute to advocacy efforts by providing data-driven arguments and insights. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to enhance analytical methods and processes for better accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Policy, Energy Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification in energy economics or policy is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in energy policy analysis or economic modelling within the energy sector. Knowledge: Strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory environments, and economic principles. Skills: Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in economic modelling software, and excellent written and verbal communication. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data analysis and report preparation. Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
