We have an opportunity for an Employment Relations Specialist to join our Employee Relations team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Manager - Employee Relations, this is an exciting opportunity to work within a professional and credible employee and industrial relations team. You will support our leaders to provide a great place to work for our employees.
In this hands-on role, you will be willing to get stuck in, working with the team and managers to resolve issues effectively. You will provide specialist advice and support on a range of employee and industrial relations matters including employment legislation compliance, enterprise agreement negotiations/ implementation/ education, contractor workplace relations due diligence, complex case management, dispute resolution and policies/ guidelines improvement.
What the role will involve: Coaching and providing advice on the interpretation of enterprise agreements, modern awards and employment contracts Provide advice on technical aspects of investigations and advise on appropriate outcomes of investigations Respond to employee claims such as disputes, equal opportunity, unfair dismissals and general protections Be involved in conciliation hearings before industrial tribunals and courts such as the Fair Work Commission, Industrial Magistrates Court and the Equal Opportunity Commission. Support with drafting papers to the People & Safety Committee, Board and Executive Team to outline recommendations on employee relations initiatives Support the Water Corporation's Enterprise Bargaining team and be an active team member of the Joint Consultative Committee with trade unions and employee representatives About you: As a seasoned ER professional, you will be degree-qualified in industrial relations, employment law or a related discipline and have substantial experience within a similar role, with a strong understanding of relevant industrial and employment legislation.
Your strong influencing and negotiating skills will be key to interfacing with external stakeholders including employee organisations. You will have practical experience in interfacing with the Fair Work Commission in respect of claims and disputes.
This integral role requires you to build trust and credibility with internal stakeholders to provide advice on complex issues. As a member of the ER team, you will provide mentorship and development for others within the broader People business units.
