An opportunity based in Karratha for an Employment and Training Officer; To be the connection between members and business with employment opportunities, to navigate the pathway for members into available jobs, including training requirements, and work to create suitable job structures within the businesses. Key responsibilities: Building effective working relationships with diverse groups including members, employees, the Jajiwurra Ranger group, Indigenous enterprises and State and Australian Government funded employment programsBuilding effective working relationships with diverse employer groups based in locations in which members resideIdentifying suitable accredited and non-accredited training pathways to meet formal training requirements and workforce development needsIdentifying suitable training providers capable of delivery in remote contexts using a range of delivery methods that meet the needs of the participantsWorking directly with local businesses to develop bespoke training programs to create work opportunities for membersDevelop a mechanism to identify and work with RRK school leavers to develop and implement career pathway plansSupporting the development of an effective mentoring program that builds capacity within the RRK communityRepresenting the business at community and stakeholder meetings in regard to a range of pre-employment, work readiness, youth engagement and capability/capacity building programs that support the aspirations of RRK peopleComplete procurement processes for training programsManage and maintain the Member Skills DatabaseTrack and report on employment outcomes within the RRKAC and develop a pipeline of media content to showcase the success of RRK members moving into employmentProviding support to the broader Management team when necessary to facilitate employment outcomes.About the organisation: RKKAC is an Aboriginal organisation, with over 400 members aged 18+. Based in Karratha, Western Australia, the organisation's vision is to work together as a community to establish a solid foundation towards independence, community wellbeing, cultural identity, and healthy Country now and for future generations.
Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC) is the registered native title body corporate for Robe River Kuruma (RRK) native title determined areas.
To be successful in this role you will have; Demonstrated experience in coordinating and delivering vocational education, training and development programs, including Training Needs Analysis processes, with the ability to apply these skills in remote areasProven experience in managing training data including recording individual staff training records, ensuring staff meet skills maintenance training timetables, re-certification requirements and have active workforce development plans in place.Awareness of issues affecting Indigenous people and other staff in remote locations with an ability to contribute sensitively and effectivelyAbility to develop and support relationships based on mutual trust, respect and consideration of values and cultureWell-developed verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a broad variety of stakeholders and a demonstrated ability in cross-cultural communicationWell-developed administrative, organisational, and written communication skills including grant writingCurrent National Police Check (or ability to obtain)Valid Open C Class LicenseAbility to successfully complete a pre-employment medical including Drug & Alcohol test.In turn RRKAC is able to provide; Not-for-profit salary sacrificingGenerous leave entitlementsOpportunity to experience living and working in rural Western AustraliaA supportive environment and ability to drive change and truly add value to the community and their membersFor all enquiries please submit to HR Officer, Ellen Simpson on ******
