Employee Relations Specialist

An opportunity for an ER Specialist has risen to provide comprehensive advice and support to the HR team and business leaders on a wide range of employee relations matters. This role requires a proactive and solutions-focused individual with a strong understanding of employment legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice and guidance on individual and collective employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance matters, performance management, absence management, and organisational change. The ability to conduct thorough and impartial investigations into workplace complaints and concerns, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes in line with relevant legislation and company policies. Critically review investigations conducted by HR Business Partners and other colleagues, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to best practices. Develop and deliver training programs on various ER topics to enhance the knowledge and skills of HR team members and line managers. Collaborate with HR Business Partners to proactively identify and address potential ER risks and develop strategies to promote a positive and productive work environment. Keep abreast of legislative changes and emerging trends in employee relations and contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including union representatives, to foster constructive dialogue and effective resolution of workplace issues. Essential Skills and Experience: Solid understanding of employment law and its practical application in the workplace. Extensive experience in conducting workplace investigations, with a demonstrated ability to gather and analyse evidence objectively, interview witnesses effectively, and produce comprehensive and well-reasoned reports. Proven ability to provide sound, impartial advice and guidance on a range of ER matters. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders at all levels. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills with a focus on achieving positive outcomes. A proactive and solutions-oriented approach with a strong bias for action. Experience in reviewing and providing feedback on workplace investigations conducted by others. Experience in developing and delivering ER training programs. Experience in dealing with unions and collective bargaining. What you need to do now:
