The City of Karratha is seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Management Liaison to lead and manage emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across the City. This role is crucial in ensuring the community is well-prepared for emergencies, from bushfires to cyclones, while maintaining compliance with the Emergency Management Act 2005 and other relevant legislation.
As the Emergency Management Liaison, you will play a vital role in promoting and developing emergency management policies and practices both within the organisation and the wider community. You'll lead the City's Bushfire Mitigation Program, work closely with various emergency services, and serve as the primary liaison on Emergency Management Committees, ensuring efficient incident management.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have a strong background in emergency management, with a comprehensive understanding of local and state legislation. You'll have experience in managing multiple stakeholders and demonstrated leadership in coordinating emergency response and recovery programs.
Key Selection Criteria: Proven experience in planning and executing emergency programs, particularly bushfire mitigation and response.Strong ability to liaise with government bodies and emergency services.Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including the Bush Fires Act 1954 and Emergency Management Act 2005.Highly developed written and verbal communication, with a strong ability to negotiate, prepare reports, and solve complex problems.Qualifications: Diploma or tertiary qualification in Emergency Management (or working towards), a Fire Control Officer Certificate, and a C class driver's licence.What We Offer:
