About the Role As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will provide clinical leadership within our Emergency Department. Your role will involve active patient assessment, mentoring junior medical staff, and coordinating patient management in collaboration with nursing staff and admitting inpatient units. Your expertise will contribute to achieving our Emergency Department performance indicators and organisational targets.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management:
Supervise the clinical management of Emergency Department patients. Manage patient flow to meet performance indicators and organisational targets. Facilitate communication with other departments and the community. Foster a team environment and support junior medical staff in decision-making and patient management. Rationalize radiology and pathology use. Comply with initiatives to maximize efficient and effective use of hospital resources. Health Service Delivery:
Implement strategies to minimize waiting times and length of stay in the ED. Reduce inappropriate admissions and discharges through guidance of junior medical staff. Be present in the ED as per rostered hours and be responsive during on-call periods. Develop management plans for potentially unstable patients within the ED. Supervise procedures performed by junior medical staff. Investment In Human Resources:
