Sydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services across the Southern Region of Sydney. D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream, and WSP. D4C is seeking an experienced Electrical Leading Hand to join their expanding team to deliver excellence across the Southern Region.
What we are looking for… Experienced Leading Hand or an experienced electrician who is willing to lead a team of 4-8 electricians/ TAs/ Apprentices to join our Southern Region Delivery team which covers an area from the South of Sydney Harbour to Kiama in the Illawarra. Your day-to-day activities include but are not limited to:
Support the Supervisor to lead the crew Lead by example in all areas with a strong focus on safety, quality, and behaviour Installation of Cable Support Systems Installation of new cable runs Installation of new and upgrades to existing switchboards and starters Control/ Panel Wiring Termination Works Commissioning and testing works The installation and commissioning of new and overhauled equipment across sewerage treatment plants and Sydney Water network sites such as remote pumping stations and reservoirs Reading and interpreting site plans & drawings Maintaining and adhering to site safety standards Assisting other work crews where required We are looking for someone with flexibility which is key for the success of our one team culture. A willingness to work with our other maintenance and construction teams when the need arises is important in ensuring we can meet any challenge that arises. The safety and wellbeing of our people is of the highest priority. Someone with a safety-first mindset is a must.
Asset types requiring works may include: Sewer pumping & water pumping stations and associated equipment Sewage treatment plants and associated equipment Water Reservoirs Valves, low pressure pumps and vacuum systems in a network Mixers, blowers, gearboxes, skimmers, actuators Water filtration plants HV installations Associated control equipment like motor control centres, soft starters, variable speed drives, instrumentation, and PLCs UV equipment As part of the Electrical Construction team, you will be required to: Perform all tasks in a safe manner to protect yourself and others from harm at all times while complying with all safety policies and procedures Perform tasks in compliance with all environmental policies and procedures to reduce the risk of environmental harm Accountability to safely conduct role within D4C and Sydney Water's safety, compliance, and environmental policies Perform construction works whilst ensuring compliance and safety of plant and equipment Perform regular inspections, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement Fault finding and rectification, including reporting Installation and testing of new equipment Travel across the southern region as required Who you are… ideally you will have: An Australian Recognised Trade Certificate NSW electrical licence or equivalent OHS induction card Previous Electrical construction experience A safety-first mindset Experience in the safe isolation and re-energisation of equipment (Lock out/Tag out) Understanding and application of leading policies and procedures Driver's licence essential Current or willingness to obtain Working at heights, Confined space, LV Rescue, CPR and First aid certifications Operational information: Permanent – full-time role Mon to Fri 7am start

Training and development for future growth. Operating Monday to Friday – 7am start - 40 hours per week, you will also support capital work projects working ad hoc rostered night shifts.
