We are seeking a qualified and motivated Electrician to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and safety of our public spaces.
About this opportunity:
As an Electrician with Mackay Regional Council, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems across various council-owned properties and public spaces. You will work closely with a team of professionals to ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulations, contributing to the safety and well-being of our community. This position will supervise and mentor an apprentice and provide advice relating to electrical repairs, maintenance and installations.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Trade Qualification Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Electrical Fitter / Electrical Mechanic or equivalent.
QLD Electrical Work Licence – Electrical Fitter / Electrical Mechanic
General Construction Induction Training
QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
Medium Rigid (MR) Licence.
Low Voltage Switchboard Rescue
Elevated Working Platform High Risk Work Licence
Experience performing repairs and maintenance on traffic lights and signals.
The position requires regular out of hours work, including weekends, as well as regular local travel. There is also a need to complete tasks as part of an emergency management response, depending on the prevailing conditions at the time. Additionally, participation in an on-call roster is required.
