Full-time and continuing position commencing late January/early February 2025 Great work / life balance with a 36.25 hour working week Monday to Friday role with occasional after-hours call-outs, offering additional compensation and variety Based at our vibrant Cairns Nguma-bada campus in Smithfield with opportunities to travel to our other sites in stunning locations such as the Daintree Rainforest, Malanda, Tully, Mossman and Thursday Island HEWL 5: $74,401 - $84,388 per annum plus trade allowances, 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits. What You'll Do: Maintain JCU's electrical assets by undertaking planned and corrective maintenance on low voltage electrical systems Actively supporting a safe and compliant work environment Supervise contractors, offering technical advice and ensuring safe and efficient practices Maintain high-quality records and reporting for all electrical services to ensure consistent and reliable service Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Completion of a trade certification as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic Queensland Electrical Licence C class Queensland Driver Licence Experience in undertaking high quality electrical trade works on building and infrastructure assets Ability to work effectively within a team environment Experience in supervising electrical contractors undertaking works Knowledge of building and distributed electrical systems Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with codes of practice and industry regulations Excellent communication skills Effective computer and mobile skills with experience using digital technology to complete electrical works. Desirable Experience in Building Management System (BMS) control and energy management Elevated Work Platform ticket and other related tickets to operate plant and machinery.
