Job Description: Mars Chocolate Ballarat has a new opportunity for an Electrician to join our team of experts who provide ongoing maintenance & support that keep our wonderful Chocolate factory running smoothly. This newly created role will work across different shift-based teams to complete proactive maintenance tasks, support breakdowns based on business needs, and work with the broader Reliability team & Factory Operations. This is a broad role that covers a magnitude of different aspects of manufacturing machinery and processes as well as understanding the inter-relationship of these processes and process capabilities.
The role operates across both rotating shifts and day shift (50:50 split), with the opportunity to support cross-functional projects within the Ballarat site to ensure continuous improvements are being identified.
What are we looking for? Industrial trade qualification; A-Class Victorian Electricians License or Cert 3 Mechanical Trade
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to work under pressure
Manufacturing/FMCG/Food Industry/SAP exposure is advantageous, but not essential
Ability to build strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders
Clear analytical process and troubleshooting skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to support mechanical works
PLC programming experience is preferable (Electrical Trade only)
Broad knowledge of industrial hardware including 3 phase motors, variable speed drives, pneumatics, hydraulics and instrumentation
Willingness to develop new knowledge and skills
What will be your key responsibilities? Identify and persist in seeking effective and efficient resolution of problems using structured root cause analysis including participation in cross functional problem-solving teams
Maintain, improve and troubleshoot sophisticated electrical/instrument equipment and PLC/SCADA controlled processes
Inputting workorders into SAP
Able to communicate technically complex problems at different levels to ensure understanding and compliance
Support the Continuous Improvement Process through the use of new technologies and innovation
Responding to urgent requests for assistance from production and reliability, along with being able to escalate urgent issues
Maintaining a high level of communication with all stakeholders in regard to equipment condition, job progress and any issues, which may affect planned activities including logging information
Participate and provide training to others as required
