Our Eastern Region are expanding their team and are seeking an Electrical Workshop Lead to successfully lead, manage, and deliver on assigned EPC projects, on a full-time permanent basis.
The Role & Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, and supervise all workshop activities (safety, quality, and productivity), including running daily pre-starts.Lead workshop manufacturing and assembly activities for EPC and other projects (such as BESS, SAPS, Microgrid Products, Switchboards/Control Panel Builds, Switchrooms, Skid Mounted Equipment, Automation Systems etc.).Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.Ensure all resources (people and plant) are available to meet committed works.Assist with the development and roll out of Lean Manufacturing processes.Support the training and development of apprentices and other staff.Liaise with the Engineering Team, Construction Team, and Technical Managers regarding buildability issues, lessons learnt and improvements.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation with manufacturing techniques to improve productivity and build times.Manage Logistics process in liaison with Procurement Officer to ensure on time delivery of goods.Manage warehouse stock, consumables, and inventory levels, including requisitions.Maintain warehouse housekeeping standards.Assist with the development of manufacturing standard work procedures and JHA's etc.Conduct regular safety and quality audits.Uphold and enhance company values.Prepare timely, accurate internal and external reports as required.Maintain workshop equipment and tooling.Approve all relevant transactions (timesheets, expenses, PO's etc.).Conduct occasional site work where necessary. Skills and Experiences: Experience & Knowledge: Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Electrical workshop Lead or similar role, leading teams to achieve successful project outcomes.Industrial electrical / switchboard building experience.Strong overall technical background in the electrical field.Background in renewable energy products (BESS/SAPS, Microgrids).Demonstrated experience in an electrical manufacturing workshop environment.Previous Lean Manufacturing experience in optimising build efficiencies and quality highly regarded.Proactive, self-motivated, and reliable.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Able to effectively plan, organise and direct the completion of projects, meeting project HSE, quality, budget, and schedule targets.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.Experienced with identifying, analysing, and mitigating risks.Exceptional time management and organisational skills. Qualifications:
Holder of a QLD Electrical Trade License (additional engineering experience/qualifications are a plus). Lean Manufacturing Cert IV or Diploma advantageous.
