Due to unprecedented growth on our QLD Children's Hospital Project in South Brisbane, we are looking for an experienced electrician or instrumentation technician to take on the role as energy plant supervisor.
The energy plant at The Queensland Children's Hospital houses the high voltage switching and stand-by generators which are essential to effective functioning of this facility - keeping the lights on and the machines beeping. It provides steam for sterilisation and humidification, hot water for showers and well-deserved baths. The hospital building's air-conditioning requirements are also reliant on the flow of and heating and cooling of the water generated in this mechanical heart. All the associated pumps and pipework emanate from this facility to provide the pulse that keeps the hospital and its patients comfortable.
The Position Direct report to the Engineering Manager.Ensure continuity of essential services in and around the Campus Energy Plant.Assist in managing and maintaining a site permit to work and lock out tag out system.Daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting of gas engine(s), generators(s) and associated plant/equipment.Managing & tracking works orders through the site computerised maintenance management system (QFM).Assist the Maintenance Planner scheduling and planning the servicing of equipment.Analysis and improve processes and job flow.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in terms of completion of works and future works.Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with moral, ethical, legal standards and maintain best FM practice.Drive WHS compliance and best practice.Working with the Maintenance Planner to drive asset maintenance best practice.Ensure that staff are familiar with WHS requirements and following safe work practices.Monitoring of stock/equipment purchases, ensuring all purchases are within budget.Oversight of but not limited to boilers, air-conditioning equipment, diesel engines, turbines, pumps, condensers, generators, and compressors.The Person Trade qualified Electrician with HV Qualification.Experience working with a permit to work system.Experience working with a lock out tag out system.A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role(s).Be able to provide an up-to-date police check no older than 12 months.A solid understanding of tri-generation facilities.A solid understanding of HV infrastructures.Well versed in all maintenance processes and workplace health and safety regulations.Previous supervisor/management experience.Current driver's license.QFM experience or other CMMS systems will be looked upon favourably.Strong computer skills (Excel and Word).The Benefits: You will have the support, infrastructure, systems and processes you would expect from a global organisation.
