The Role Our client is seeking skilled Electrical Fitters or Maintenance Fitters to maintain and repair automated equipment in a fast-paced production facility.
This role requires a high degree of autonomy , with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities : Perform preventative maintenance and routine adjustments on automated production and packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on machinery, including mixers, extruders, ovens, conveyors, motors, and automated packaging systems .
Conduct general workshop repairs using tools such as lathes, mills, presses, and welders .
Repair and maintain pneumatic systems, boilers, chain drives, gearboxes, and motors .
Undertake project-based work , including the commissioning and installation of new equipment .
Ensure strict compliance with safety, food safety, and quality standards .
Respond promptly to breakdowns and proactively work to minimise downtime.
Shift Work : This is a shift-based role , requiring flexibility to work across day, afternoon, and night shifts , as well as overtime and weekends when needed.
What You Need Qualifications : Electrical Fitter : A or B Class Electrical Licence and Non-Restricted Electrical Licence (NREL).
Maintenance Fitter : Mechanical Trade Qualification.
Experience : Proven experience in FMCG manufacturing environments , ideally in food production.
Expertise in fault-finding and troubleshooting automated machinery and packaging systems .
Familiarity with pneumatics, boilers, gearboxes, chain drives, and motors.
Proficiency in workshop repairs using tools like lathes, mills, and welders.
A proactive, autonomous approach to managing maintenance tasks.
