About The Role: Prominent Hill is a copper-gold mine, a long-life asset, that is part of the BHP South Australia copper province.
BHP is a global company with operations in Australia, North and South America across 5 different commodities.
You will join our dynamic and results-driven team providing specialist advice, affecting the defect elimination process and undertaking reliability improvement work.
Your role will focus on the end-to-end maintenance system, inclusive of parts, procedures, work quality and processes.
Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off / 4 days on; 3 days off / 4 days on; 3 days off

In this role you will: Ensure the site is compliant with relevant standards and statutory obligations.Develop operating/work procedures for people carrying out work as part of the reliability program.Participate in audits of site equipment and systems to ensure site asset management practices meet company performance requirements and remain compliant with regulatory requirements.Execute defect elimination rhythms and routines, ensuring triggered events are reviewed, investigated, actions are implemented and remediation plans are monitored for effectiveness.Foster relationships with key personnel from other business functions.Provide expertise and coaching to other operational teams in analysis of performance indicators and metrics.Review execution results from current weekly work schedule to support & ensure compliance of preventive maintenance tasks.Analyse condition monitoring data and action accordingly.Implement maintenance work plans to validate the integrity of plant, equipment and infrastructure in accordance with defined standards and procedures.Analyse life of plant, equipment and infrastructure to determine equipment capability.Provide input into the development of the capital and operating budgets.Investigate events which meet the Business/Asset-defined risk threshold.Develop scopes for site reliability improvement projects, and champion the initiatives.About You: IEAust recognised mechanical engineering degree.Safety focused with sound knowledge of OH&S and mining safety regulation.Strong technical and mentoring capabilities.Experience in the application of risk management practices.Demonstrated experience as an operational site technical expert for mechanical engineering.Comprehensive knowledge of Asset Management principles and experience in their application.Working knowledge of Asset Management, and risk management standards.Experience drafting and updating site technical engineering standards and specifications.Experience preparing scopes of work for contracts and consultants.Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining productive relationships and working collaboratively to achieve business objectives.A solid knowledge of mining safety regulation and knowledge of key Australian (and other international) standards.Experience in the interpretation and analysis of condition monitoring data.Experience analysing and using data to solve equipment defects.A solid knowledge of tribology.Experience in the selection of and application of bearings, couplings, drive belts and other mechanical power transfer technologies.Capable of providing sound, timely, pragmatic technical advice to site teams, drawing from experience and a variety of information sources and references.Assisting in the preparation of budgets for the maintenance of assets.Preparation of ad-hoc analysis and periodic asset performance reporting.Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (i.e.
