Our main services are in Wellington, Dubbo, Moree, Western Sydney, Penrith, Nepean, and Blue Mountains, and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs.The Elders Support Worker is a key member of the Aged Care Team, responsible for delivering culturally sensitive and respectful support services to Aboriginal people. This role focuses on providing holistic and client-centred support to individuals.Key responsibilities but not limited to:Provide active participation, connection, and contribution opportunities for the participants within their home and local community.Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.Provide support with Transportation and Shopping. Contribute to a high quality of life alongside the people we support.Contribute to written documentation as required.Experience & Passionate about caring for elders and families.Relevant tertiary qualifications.First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).A Certificate of Aboriginality.A Current National Police Check.A Current Working with Children Checks NSW. (or willingness to obtain).Valid Australian Driver's License. COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster information (or evidence of a valid medical exemption).Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal clients, communities, and stakeholders.Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with clients.Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, and current issues affecting lives of Aboriginal people.
