EL 2 - Project Manager – Court & Tribunal ServicesPosition Overview
The Commonwealth Courts are supported by a shared "Court & Tribunal Services" (CTS) function which operates as a national registry service. The service is responsible for the delivery of:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Court & Tribunal Operations, the Project Manager is responsible for providing project management services that will drive improvements in service delivery and financial sustainability across the Court & Tribunal Services function.
In this role you will work closely with the CTS Leadership Team to deliver reform programs sponsored by the Chief Executive Officers of each court. You will also support the broader Court & Tribunal Services team to apply project management and change management methodology to other projects and initiatives that are key to the court's transformation to a more agile, responsive and professional service.
The position requires a customer focus, excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills, supported by a demonstrated working knowledge of Project Management. Detail orientation is important to ensure that critical tasks are managed, and risks addressed.
Our ideal candidate will be a dynamic, highly motivated, organised and self-directed individual with proven experience delivering projects in complex organisational settings. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Other Requirements
Project management certification is essential e.g. PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP). Relevant industry experience would be well regarded.
Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering projects in complex environments.Highly developed problem solving and organisational skills.Strong communication (oral and written) and liaison skills, including the ability to communicate with people at all levels in a dispersed setting (i.e. working remotely with judges and staff located across the country).Demonstrated ability to work both under broad direction and independently to achieve program goals and quality outcomes of project delivery.Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities and demonstrate accountability for outcomes.Eligibility
Employment with the Court is subject to the conditions prescribed in the Public Service Act 1999, and the following:
Australian citizenship – the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship.Security and character clearance – the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check, and may also be required to complete security clearances during the course of their employment.Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.Interested candidates who have received a redundancy benefit from an APS agency are welcome to apply but note that they cannot be engaged until their redundancy benefit period has expired.
