The opportunity we have available
The People Branch supports the department to achieve its strategic outcomes by providing a range of client-focused advice and essential services.
We do this through building and sustaining a workplace culture of inclusivity, integrity and professionalism, reflective of a modern and responsive public service.

We are currently seeking to fill two Director roles within the branch.
These are senior leadership positions in the People Branch and the wider department, and are responsible for ensuring a range of services we deliver for our business and people are actioned in a responsive, timely, effective and efficient manner.
Director, Performance and Health Case Management – this role is focussed on managing on behalf of the department all performance and health case matters, rehabilitation and compensation matters and code of conduct matters.
This role provides reactive and proactive support to staff and managers across the department.
Director, Workplace and Employee Relations – this role is focussed on managing employment conditions at an individual and workforce level on behalf of the department.
The team provides advice to staff, including our executives, and employee representatives on workplace relations matters including conditions and working arrangements.
Both roles may have additional functions such as work health and safety and/or payroll which may change over time.

The key duties of the position include: Who are we looking for?

Our successful candidate is a HR leader with extensive experience in Performance and Health Case management and/or Employment and Workplace Relations.
You will have a passion for contributing to the development and delivery of people strategies and operational capability, putting people at the heart of everything you do.
You will have extensive experience in the design and delivery of programs, very strong consultancy skills, well developed stakeholder management, and the ability to communicate and provide advice tailored to your audience.
You will be excited by the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders at all levels within the Department to assess their current and emerging people challenges, design creative strategies and implement key people initiatives.
You will be a team player, but will also thrive in an environment of autonomy and independence where your ability to think on your feet and adapt your approach as projects progress is critical.
You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be motivated, accountable, outcomes driven and future focused.
You will be:

A leader of people who will work with and develop their team to proactively uplift capability and deliver on departmental outcomes.
