The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability.A new role awaitsWe have an exciting new opportunity to join the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) as the EL2 Director, Controls Assurance within the Audit Branch.The Audit Branch provides independent and objective assurance and consulting to the Agency. The Branch provides a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organisations governance, risk management and internal control processes.Controls Assurance will be a new function in the branch, and there is opportunity to contribute significantly to its direction and success.Where you can add valueThe EL2 Director, Controls Assurance position is responsible for initiating, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. As an experienced leader, you will ensure development and delivery of a program that meets organisational objectives, overseeing and aligning with the risk management framework and the Agency's governance model.Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Establishing the Control Assurance Team, who will conduct assessment activities and facilitate the effective evaluation and improvement of the Agency's internal control environment.Establishing sound relationships with stakeholders for assisting the Agency in implementing better practices and effective internal controls.Producing high standard reporting to monitor and communicate agreed outcomes and achievements.Monitoring and providing updates to the Branch Manager Audit of changes, emerging risks and issues that may be identified through assurance activities.Knowledge of using data analytics tools and designing data analytics testing strategies to provide reasonable assurance.Enough about us, let's talk about youYour experience and sound leadership skills will inspire your team members to strive for the best outcomes.
