EL1 - Various Positions - National Student Ombudsman National Student Ombudsman The National Student Ombudsman (NSO) will be the primary escalation complaints body for higher education students, enrolled at a TEQSA-registered provider. Independent and impartial, the NSO will handle complaints about the administrative actions of higher education providers in relation to their students, where students are not satisfied with their provider's response to a complaint.The NSO process to make a complaint will be effective and accessible for students and is intended to streamline, simplify and improve processes for students. It will be responsible for complaints about: The NSO will adopt a trauma-informed approach to complaint handling and offer restorative engagement where appropriate. It will have sector-wide visibility of student complaints about higher education providers, enabling it to identify and respond to systemic issues, promote best practice and share information with regulators. The NSO is organised into five teams which include Complaints, Investigations, Restorative Engagement, Resolution and Reporting, Strategic Investigations, and Outreach and Education. Our opportunities The Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman (the Office) is looking to fill multiple vacancies at the Executive level 1. These roles are varied across the National Student Ombudsman.
