The Role The SO1 Capability Manager Representative (CMR) Support Manager position in Surface Force is a senior manager position that supports the Surface Force Commander and contributes to Australia's maritime security. You will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex governance work within an integrated workforce and will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. You will lead a governance team in managing allocated resources, setting priorities and evaluating business outcomes in relation to the delivery of Maritime Cross-Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO) sustainment products and services. You will manage the requirements of the CMR on a daily basis and set priorities for work schedules collaboratively with the MCPSPO to ensure timely delivery of decision criteria to the engineering teams in MCPSPO.
About our Team The Surface Force HQ Governance Team is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of business governance related activities. This includes the engagement of subject matter experts and the provision of advice to managers, delegates, Navy personnel and the CMR on a range of matters. These include seaworthiness requirements and safety implications, processes, legislative and Defence requirements and employer/employee responsibilities, and the translating and integration of Fleet policy, guidelines and procedures into cross-platform sustainment processes; thus ensuring consistency with relevant legislation and Defence requirements.
Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for the position is an individual experienced in logistics or engineering management who possesses a reputation for pursuit of excellence in the field of complex maritime platform support governance and sustainment. You will have an in-depth knowledge of Defence and Navy mission and policy requirements and be able to exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice. Importantly, you will have the ability to review and revise complex briefing material, correspondence and reports on relevant policy, governance and legislative matters and present to mixed audiences of engineers, finance controllers and operational subject matter experts.
Salary: $115,899 - $130,733 + up to 15.4% Superannuation
