Duties Engaging and collaborating with a range of key internal and external stakeholders and networks with other Commonwealth agencies, State and Territory governments, assessing authorities, regulatory bodies, and the VET sector to leverage Australia's international engagement on VET to support strategic skills and foreign policy objectives, including to scope and identify opportunities for the viability of international apprentices.
Developing briefs, policy papers, discussion papers, planning artifacts, policy proposals and costing options, presentation materials and correspondence and undertaking research and analysis.
Reviewing existing data, programs and policies and linkages with other agency/government agendas.
Commissioning additional data, research and analysis to address any gaps to develop a complete picture of the workforce requirements and training pathways.
Providing high level coordination and administrative support to facilitate visits, meetings and delegations both in Australia and overseas.
Facilitating Minister's international engagements, including international travel and briefings.
Supporting development of the team's strategic priorities, outcomes and workplans.
Identifying, developing and implementing activities to support international policy objectives.
Identifying opportunities and risks related to international engagement and collaboration on VET Do You Have?
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to deliver clear, concise and compelling messages that are fit for purpose and the audience.
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills - assist in the development of high quality and timely written advice, briefings, correspondence and other material for a range of audiences.
Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills - capability to develop and maintain strong, productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and support other team members to do the same High level organisational and planning skills - ability to prioritise own work and contribute to the team's work planning, excellent attention to detail.
Ability to support other team members - to respond flexibly to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment and deliver high quality results.
Sound leadership skills -exercise judgment, operate independently (including managing work outputs) and understand the impact of the wider environment on own work and team objectives.
Team management - Ability to lead, motivate and develop team members to manage competing priorities and strategic directions to achieve high outputs.
