Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The Fraud Fusion Taskforce and Integrity Capability Division (the Division) has several EL1 vacancies across the Intelligence and Analytics Branch.
The Division drives the Agency's integrity response and capability uplift as well as the coordination of the whole-of-government multi-agency Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT).
Our division is responsible for:
Investigating and responding to internal and external fraud against the NDIS, including undertaking criminal investigations of serious and organised fraud against the NDIS in partnership with Fraud Fusion Taskforce member agencies.Managing the tip-off process and collecting intelligence about integrity concerns to ensure this is acted upon. We develop risk profiles through detection analytics which inform our responses.Scalable responses, targeted at specific integrity vulnerabilities and cohorts, to address known and emerging integrity and fraud matters.Fraud investigations, which will progress to prosecutions for serious cases.Overall governance and management of the multi-agency Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT), including development of agreed strategic prevention concepts and priorities across FFT agencies and reporting of savings and benefits.The Intelligence and Analytics Branch (IAB) is responsible for managing and optimising the use of all sources of data and information relevant to integrity, including analytics and reporting across those sources.

EL1 Data Analyst
The Detection Analytics team provides specialised technical support and insights on key issues within the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Agency, including the development of advanced risk detection profiles.
Responsibilities of the EL1 Data Analyst role include but are not limited to:
Undertaking day-to-day analytical work and project management on a range of tasks including regular and one-off analyses and ad hoc requests.Maintaining knowledge in understanding business areas about business context, goals and key performance indicators.Contributing to the development of reporting, assisting in the establishment of quality assurance and governance processes around all branch reporting.Analysing data, interpreting trends, utilising problem solving, and connecting analysis and insights to address problems and questions.EL1 Business Analyst
The EL1 Business Analyst, also part of the Detection Analytics team, is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the NDIA.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Analysing data, interpreting results, and producing reports using advanced statistical techniques.Overseeing and coordinating divisional and branch reporting to monitor, track, and drive improvement and performance outcomes.Leading the development of business functional requirements and resources, ensuring consistency with contractual, legislative, and policy environments.Leading the team in translating business metrics to inform and guide internal stakeholders on efficiency, improvement, and performance outcomes including mentoring other staff.Leading a strategic approach in designing, delivering, and facilitating workshops, communication, and consultation resources to support complex systems and business information gathering and sharing.Managing the establishment, implementation of the governance and compliance processes, dashboards, and management systems to track and evaluate branch and divisional performance.Leading and overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and audit of risk processes, controls, and undertaking issues resolution.EL1 Tactical Intelligence
The Tactical Intelligence team manages an intelligence-led approach to the response of serious non-compliance and fraud against the NDIS. The section utilises various intelligence sources and tools to obtain information to assist with determining fraudulent behaviour.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Utilising a Diploma of Government (Investigation), or its equivalent, as set out in Public Services Training Package (PSP04) to support the planning and production of financial intelligence outputs and outcomes.Leading and coordinating intelligence projects, producing a range of high quality tactical and operational intelligence products informing and impacting decision-making for internal and external stakeholders, targeting organised fraud in Government programs.Liaising with other Agencies, sharing information and intelligence, producing briefing papers including link charts and reports.Conducting quality assessments on Tactical Intelligence Reports prior to referral for treatment.Producing reference and training material to support the Agency in relation to intelligence support and management.EL1 Tip-Off, Intelligence and Assessment
The Intake and Assessment team manages and maintains the agencies avenue for all informants to make a report about potential scam, compliance or fraud issues or emerging behaviours within the Scheme.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Collaborating across the branch on the development and implementation of processes.Coordinating and preparing a range of high-level written material for senior managers on compliance activities.Leading and managing teams undertaking information gathering activities with efficiency and effectiveness.Contributing recommendations and initiatives for building better operational practices.Providing guidance and supporting staff with the management and escalation of compliance issues, accounting for applicable legislation, processes, and procedures.Contributing towards high quality business outcomes by providing internal stakeholders with professional and ongoing advice.EL1 Project Manager (Continuous Improvement)
The Continuous Improvement team is responsible for an ongoing program of review, redesign and optimisation of key processes, systems and supporting artefacts across FFTIC Division.
Responsibilities of the EL1 Project Manager role include but are not limited to:
Providing leadership across the Branch and Division with respect to continuous improvement opportunities with an integrity focus, including identifying and prioritising appropriate continuous improvement initiatives.Supervising and leading staff in designing and evaluating business processes, including the mapping of current and future state processes.Applying strong project management methodologies and governance to the design and delivery of complex projects with quality outputs including those with specific operational and technical (ICT) considerations.Developing high quality project management artifacts to support Senior Executive decision-making, stakeholder engagement and the ongoing reporting of project progression.EL1 Project Manager (Strategic Intelligence)
The Strategic Intelligence team is responsible for analysing all available information and intelligence to provide strategic-level insight and reports of trends, vulnerabilities and risk treatments.
Responsibilities of the EL1 Project Manager role include but are not limited to:
Developing, managing and implementing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework.Contributing to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.Ensuring project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.Researching, reviewing and evaluating projects in specific operational or technical areas.Reporting on project outputs to stakeholders and overseeing regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.Enough about us, let's talk about you

While this role is ideally performed from Deakin, ACT, Surry Hills, NSW, Brisbane & Robina, QLD, Adelaide, SA, Geelong & Richmond, VIC, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
