Specified Term - Initial period of up to 12 Months with an opportunity to extend.
The ANAO is seeking an experienced and motivated individual who will have a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and attention to detail.
You will manage the Finance Team, including allocating resources, managing priorities, and supporting coaching for team members.
The key duties of the position include:Lead and manage the financial accounting function.Lead the financial operations function.Lead the development of the Annual Financial Statements.Assist the CFO and Deputy CFO with preparations of briefings to the JCPAA.Maintain an awareness of the ANAO's internal and external environment to provide strategic advice.Provide strategic advice and guidance to the CFO and Deputy CFO in relation to finance-related functions.Provide leadership, support, and coaching to the Finance team.Lead and develop significant key internal and external relationships.Who we are looking forThe successful candidate will have the following:
Decision making based on professional judgement that complies with legislative requirements and is consistent with standards, policies, and operating procedures.Demonstrated experience being proactive and using problem solving and influencing skills to resolve issues in a timely manner.A considerable degree of independent action and initiative.Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and being comfortable working in an environment of changing priorities with tight timeframes.Ability to think strategically, aligning the team's work with business needs and agency goals and objectives.Desirable qualificationsThere are no mandatory qualifications for this role.
However, the following are highly desirable:
Tertiary financial qualification(s) (or working towards).Experience using financial systems.Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ANAO, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
Security Clearance – The Australian community requires the highest level of integrity from ANAO employees.
The preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Baseline level.
