The Organisation :
Our client is currently seeking Exec Level 1 Business Analysts to join a team within a Federal Government Agency based in the Adelaide CBD.
This Government agency works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.
The Service Design and Improvement Branch is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve internal service delivery processes and systems to provide better experiences for participants. The branch aims to improve the participant experience by identifying process improvements, then designing and delivering solutions to make improvements. The branch works with Subject Matter Experts to create and implement solutions that simplify processes, improve timelines and the quality of outcomes for participants. The branch designs the elements that deliver the strategic vision of the agency.

The Role:
The EL1 Business Analyst is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the Agency. The position is a team membership position and has a concurrent requirement to resolve issues and risks across a broad range of activities of substantial depth involving significant detail and to provide support to the team leadership of their work area in the planning and coordination of the team.
The EL1 Business Analyst is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the agency to advance the agency's interests across a range of forums.
This is an assignment from approximately late October for 12 months, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with a payrate of $602.55 per day plus super. This role is based in the Adelaide CBD although some work from home may be available. You must hold Australian Citizenship at the time of applying.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identifying and documenting current business processes to create baseline understanding of current situation and processes.
Creating and facilitating process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis.
Providing program/stream level analysis and producing required analysis documentation.
Providing expertise and supporting the Product Owner to elaborate user stories, acceptance criteria and process maps with the input from SMEs.
Providing assistance to Product Owner with the use of internal systems.
Evaluating effectiveness of proposed solutions and design.
Leading transition of business requirements over to build teams for development.
Supporting verification testing of the built solution to ensure alignment to business requirements.

To be considered you will demonstrate:
Business process analysis: Proficiency in analysing and documenting current state versus future state process maps.
Requirement gathering: Ability to elicit, document and manage business requirements into Epics and User Stories.
Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Testing: Ability to undertake systems testing against defined acceptance criteria during the build and testing cycles of development.
Stakeholder engagement: Facilitating workshops with other stakeholders, Business Analysts, User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) Designers and technology teams.
Risk assessment: Identifying potential issues or risks, tracking problems, recommending alternatives, and escalating issues as appropriate.
System thinking: Developing and maintaining subject matter expertise across new systems and processes.

Desirable skills:
Data analysis: Skill in analysing data to identify trends and insights.
Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile methodologies like Agile or Kanban.
Business Analysis Tools: Knowledge of tools such as Jira and Confluence for documentation and workflow management.
Process Improvement: Experience in recommending and implementing process improvements.
Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with team members from various disciplines.
