Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems Land SPO (EWIS Land) is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, energetic candidate with well-developed contracting, procurement and governance skills to join our team as Assistant Sustainment Director. The Assistant Sustainment Director will possess the skills and experience in commercial, contracting and procurement and ability to analyse a problem and tailor a solution to achieve effective and fit-for-purpose commercial outcomes across a wide range of Electromagnetic Warfare products and sustainment projects. Our successful candidate will have a proven ability to manage a team with a variety of backgrounds, qualifications and experience from the APS, ADF and contracted workforce. They will be expected to undertake critical analysis of finance and procurement methods suitable to meet the expected product performance standards for the product life.
This job is for you if you are energised to take responsibility for developing commercial strategies, negotiating and managing multiple complex support contracts. You will also get a buzz from developing and managing a high performing team and integrating into a well-established logistics and engineering eco system. This should be second nature to you based on your track record of fostering productive relationships with stakeholders, communicating influentially and delivering commercial outcomes in compliance with Commonwealth Government legislation and policy requirements.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. We deliver, integrate and sustain intelligence and electromagnetic warfare capabilities into a wide range of air, land and maritime platforms and systems. We have a high performing culture and are faced with complex challenges in our role to defend Australia and its interests.
EWIS Land SPO is comprised of members from various geographic locations and disciplinary backgrounds with diverse skills working together to deliver and support capabilities to the ADF and external Government agencies. This includes Force Protection Electronic Countermeasures, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robots, Deliberate Route Clearance as well as Tactical Electronic Warfare systems.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a commercial environment with a robust understanding of CASG contractual mechanisms while being open to learning how to apply them to suit EWIS-L SPO product support.
The successful candidate will have a solid background implementing Defence procurement policies with a broad understanding and working knowledge of most of the following areas and in depth experience with some:
Complex procurement and In-Service Support procurementContract Management, including contract development and contract performance managementBudget Development & ManagementArmy Sustainment Fleet Screening management and deliveryBusiness GovernanceAsset accounting with experience with ACT/AUC toolsLogistics Support ManagementExperience working in and/or providing support to Supply Chain Management IAW Defence policies
