EL1 Assistant Director Learning and Development Your new company
This Federal Government Agency seeks an experienced and dynamic EL1 Assistant Director, Learning and Development, to join a high-performing team.
This critical role will shape and lead the agency's learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.

Your new role
As the Assistant Director, you will work closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts to develop, implement, and evaluate learning programs that enhance workforce capability, employee engagement, and performance.
You will have the opportunity to influence policy, provide expert advice, and drive innovative training solutions across a diverse range of functions.

Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of strategic learning and development initiatives.
Partner with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop targeted training programs to address workforce capability gaps.
Oversee the implementation of leadership development programs, induction training, and e-learning solutions.
Monitor and report on learning outcomes, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and compliance with relevant frameworks and legislation.
Key Capabilities: Strong leadership and people management skills, with demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
Proven ability to design and implement learning and development strategies in a complex environment.
Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements.
Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, or a related field are highly desirable.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior learning and development role, preferably within the APS.
Knowledge of APS policies and legislative frameworks is highly desirable.
What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible for this position you will need to be an Australian Citizen, hold a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2), or be willing to obtain one.
