As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. The NDIA is seeking an experienced EL1 Assistant Director Controls Assurance to join the Audit Branch.The Audit Branch provides independent and objective assurance and consulting to the Agency. The Branch provides a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organisation's governance, risk management and internal control processes.The Controls Assurance is a new function in the branch, and there is opportunity to contribute significantly to its direction and success.Where you can add valueThe EL1 Assistant Director, Controls Assurance position ensures the integrity and effectiveness of the NDIA's control system, leads a team and makes strategic decisions to enhance the NDIA's operations. With your expertise, you will be able to deliver assurance assessments (testing) that meet organisational objectives.Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Assisting the Director, Controls Assurance in planning, executing and reporting on control evaluation activities for improving Agency's internal control environment.Mentoring and coaching Controls Assurance Officer/s to ensure a professional and consistent approach to assessments, undertaking quality assurance of teams output to ensure objectives are met.Overseeing elements of the Controls Assurance work program to ensure correct methodology is applied and align with the risk management framework and governance model.Leading assessment activities to facilitate effective evaluation and improvement of the Agency's control framework and internal control environment.Producing high standard reporting to monitor and communicate agreed outcomes and achievements.Enough about us, let's talk about youYour ability to provide strategic advice, solve complex problems, and manage potentially controversial matters will be critical to your success.
