Sloan has an opening for an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager (EHS) in our Augusta, Arkansas Foundry. In this role you will assist in managing and overseeing programs to provide a safe, compliant, comfortable, and effective work environment for all employees.rative duties.
The EHS Manager assists senior leadership in planning, coordinating, and implementing the Augusta facility's environmental health and safety programs. The primary duties of this position include preventing injury, occupational illness, and damage to property or to the environment, ensuring the company is compliant, and driving worldclass safety regarding OSHA, EPA, ADEQ, RCRA, DOT, NFPA, NEC, IBC, other State and Federal building codes and standards, industry-accepted best practices, and other applicable regulations at both the state and federal level.
Responsibilities include: Establish compliance-based programs designed to meet local, state, and federally mandated compliance standards. Advise organizational leaders on local, state, and federally mandated compliance standards set forth by organizations such as OSHA, NFPA, EPA, RCRA, DOT. Control comprehensive safety and accident prevention programs. Assist the EHS team with policy and procedure development, training, and implementation. The EHS Manager will be directly involved in the design, approval, coordination, and contracting of new construction projects and continuously audit the services contracted out to third parties. Oversee the environmental program reporting as outlined by the State of Arkansas to include groundwater reports, engineering inspection reports, Form R Reports, Teir II Reports, Generator Stack Testing Reports, Quarterly Landfilling Reports, Land Application Report, and ZZZZ RICE HAP Report. Oversee the on-site ground monitoring wells (19), permits for Air, Water, and Solid Waste, baghouse emissions and differential pressures, Free Flow treatments, TCLP waste sampling, zinc oxide collection/recycling, Amine /Sulfuric Acid Scrubber system, and SPCC Plans. Complete, maintain, and semi-annually acquire certification as a Visible Opacity Reader through the AeroMet certification program as required by the EPA Support the Onboarding and Orientation safety training, encourage health and safety training/and/or provide such training to subordinates, and assist those employees conducting self-audit of their areas. Oversees biological monitoring programs, assesses/ analyzes research data, summarizes statistics and compiles reports generated from such data to Impose the implementation of programs to protect employee health. Advise as necessary on various workers' compensation claims pertaining to workplace exposures. Perform the duties of industrial hygiene for the facility to include the procurement, calibration, operation, and analysis of data from equipment such as dosimeters and personal sampling pumps with cartridge filters. Provide or contract medical exams to include chest Xrays, Tuberculosis determinations, audiometric testing, blood-lead testing, pulmonary function evaluations, respiratory fit testing, physical examinations, cardiovascular examinations, and urinalysis for all employees who are exposed at or above the action level as defined by the 29 series of the Federal Code of Federal Regulations. Ensure that the data collected is disseminated to employees within the guidance of the regulations while maintaining applicable standards of HIPPA. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in safety engineering, Risk or Emergency Management or Occupational Health 3+ Years Experience managing employees 6+ Years Experience in workplace environmental health and safety. Critical thinking and analytical proficiency. Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment. Organizes information and data to identify/explain major trends, problems, and causes; compares and combines information to identify underlying issues. Working knowledge of safety management processes. Working knowledge of OSHA Standards in General Industry, Hazardous Materials, Respiratory Protection, Safety and Health Fundamentals, Evacuation and Emergency Planning #LI-BH
