In addition to supporting CBA's M&A and Treasury functions on transactions, the team works with a range of teams across CBA that require strategic corporate advice with a span across the entire organisation.Do work that matters:We are looking for a senior corporate lawyer with extensive experience in M&A who enjoys a dynamic environment and brings curiosity and humility.
You will provide strategic, practical legal advice and be a strong and effective communicator, capable of working closely with a range of senior stakeholders across a diverse practice, both autonomously and alongside other lawyers.We are a team of highly skilled and collegiate lawyers who enjoy the benefits of working in-house close to the commercial side of transactions with some of the highest quality and most challenging legal work in the industry.The work is varied and may include assisting with:M&A and other corporate transactions such as joint ventures, investments and alliances, in addition to transition and integration projects;Capital management such as buy-backs, capital raisings and funding transactions and advisory work supporting CBA's ordinary shares and ASX listing;Broad corporate advisory work including continuous disclosure, employee share plans, the AGM, corporate reporting (financial, sustainability, remuneration and corporate governance), insurance coverage and more.We're interested in hearing from people who have:8+ years relevant post admission experience in an Australian or international top-tier firm, with in-house experience in a large corporate also desirable.Extensive experience in providing strategic legal advice and driving transactions amongst competing priorities.Sound commercial and financial acumen and curiosity in commercial drivers and issues for transactions.Excellent technical legal skills including the ability to quickly grasp and resolve issues in complex matters and a willingness to continue to grow and expand your expertise.The capacity to build excellent relationships with a range of stakeholders and the ability to clearly communicate complex issues with simple and persuasive advice.A team-oriented outlook, a 'can do' attitude, integrity and sound judgment.If this sounds like your next career opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!Working at CommBankAt CommBank, we support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half their time each month connecting in office.
