Are you passionate about making a real difference in the aged and dementia care sector?Join an internationally renowned Research and Education Centre for Dementia ResearchFull-time, Fixed-Term till Dec 2026 based in HobartAbout the opportunity We are seeking to appoint an Education Officer in the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre which is part of the College of Health and Medicine. The Wicking Dementia Centre has been at the forefront of online dementia education since 2008 and has a number of large educational programs designed for the aged care workforce who are providing care to people living with dementia and their carers. Boosting the capability of the workforce is a vital aspect of providing quality care.
The Education Officer will bring to this role their experience of the aged care sector and an understanding of online learning particularly for the aged and dementia care workforce. This role will be actively involved in the design, development and delivery of online educational materials directly addressing aged care workforce needs. This position also involves actively engaging in supporting an online Community of Practice and contributing to its growth.
What you'll do: Support the design and delivery of tailored online education for the aged and dementia care workforceGenerate clear and actionable insights from review of current educational material highlighting strengths and areas for improvement to guide future content development.Contribute to maintaining quality and relevance of online educational content for the aged and dementia care workforce, aligned with current policies and best practices.Support a dynamic and self-sustaining online Community of Practice in dementia care.Collaborate with sector experts, to ensure the development of a wide range of educational materials that address contemporary workforce challenges including material for Community of Practice such as discussion boards prompts, blogs and videos.What we're looking for: In-depth understanding of the aged care sector: knowledge of aged care policies, practices including dementia care, and workforce challenges to create relevant and impactful content.Demonstrated understanding of the educational needs of the aged care workforce.Ability to communicate in diverse formats including design blogs, discussion board prompts, and content for short educational videos, with confidence both in writing, on camera, and public speaking.Ability to actively engage with the aged care sector and collaborate with subject matter experts across various fields, contributing to the design and delivery of high-quality online content for the Community of Practice.Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $113,029 comprising base salary within the range of $89,091 to $96,606 plus 17% superannuation.
