About the role This is an exciting opportunity to lead the charge at one of Australia's most iconic brands.
As the Editor, you'll drive the editorial strategy, creating the perfect blend of celebrity, royal, news and lifestyle content that will sit in both our weekly print product and across our website, social channels (Instagram, Facebook and TikTok), and EDMS.
We're on the hunt for an omnichannel editor who can take our brand to new heights by spearheading strategic digital initiatives across all channels, all the while protecting the core of our brand – our much-loved weekly print product.
You'll work closely with our Celebrity Editorial Director to ensure circulation targets and commercial budgets are met, all while sticking to strict deadlines and maintaining key relationships with industry contacts.
From crafting compelling stories to driving commercial success, you'll be at the forefront of our omnichannel expansion, working alongside relevant digital leads to ensure Woman's Day's expansion and longevity as a trusted companion to generations of consumers.
Duties The Editor will be responsible for driving the omnichannel editorial direction of the title, including cover and content strategy, issue forward planning, and working with the omnichannel content team to deliver on all KPIs and goals in line with the brand strategic plan, budgets and timelines.
Ideate and secure commercially strong content, including cover line-ups and digital content in line with best practice using SEO, circulations and other key data insights Maintain a high-quality editorial content mix across pillars and platforms Execute and support strategies set by Are Media's Centres of Excellence (Social, SEO, EDMs) Manage, lead and inspire 6+ direct reports Drive a united cross-platform Omni Channel team with a shoppable mindset Drive and maintain best practice workflows Skills and experience 10 + years relevant experience in magazines/digital media Be a true Woman's Day brand champion Have a strong understanding and proven experience in cover craft Be commercially driven to achieve revenue and EBITDA targets across the brand A history in creating, editing or commissioning quality journalism Strong contact list that spans across talent, PRs and media Drive a united cross-platform omnichannel team High attention to detail and time management skills Ability to work positively with a wide variety of stakeholders and be efficient in managing up as well as down Experience in/understanding of working across multiple platforms Flexibility to change and ability to manage the related demands Strong knowledge of media law Are Media is committed to a diverse, respectful, collaborative & inclusive workplace.
