For more information about the Department of Education, please visit NSW Department of Education About the Early Childhood Outcomes Division The Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) Division leads the delivery of early childhood education and care (ECEC) initiatives, overseeing comprehensive investments in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future. The NSW Childcare and Economic Opportunities Fund (the Fund) is designed to provide supply-side interventions into the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector to reduce the barriers to workforce participation by improving the affordability and accessibility of quality early childhood education and care. About the Role The Economic and Policy Analyst will apply economic principles, undertake research and analysis to inform operations and investment decisions. This work will include development of business cases, risk and commercial analysis, to support the operation of the Fund. About you Passionate about evidence-based policy and improving the impact of government initiatives? Possess strong analytical skills and have experience in conducting economic and financial analyses to support decision-making processes. You can communicate economic and financial concepts and policy issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Thrive in a team environment, working well with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals and improve service quality. Your duties will include but are not limited to: Develop thorough research and financial analysis to support policy and funding decisions, providing strategic advice on risk, procurement, and financial management Create materials that effectively communicate complex financial and policy issues to stakeholders with varying levels of economic knowledge Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to analyse the impact of reforms and policy proposals, enhancing decision making processes Build and maintain professional networks and stakeholder relationships to identify opportunities for improving project management, methodologies, and modelling techniques For further information please view the role description. Key knowledge and experience Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and the ECE First Steps Strategy to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people and support Aboriginal children and families in NSW. Essential requirements of the role Tertiary qualifications in accounting and finance, a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience. A valid Working With Children Check. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of public education.
