About Jacinth-Ambrosia Jacinth-Ambrosia is located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world's largest source of zircon, and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in a mixed-use regional reserve – the Yellabina Regional Reserve – in South Australia, demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation. The Jacinth-Ambrosia site has a fully equipped modern camp with facilities including a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi, and Foxtel.
About The Role An opportunity exists for a self-motivated and team-focused individual to join the operations teams based at Jacinth-Ambrosia Site. The role is accountable for the execution of earthmoving activities at Jacinth-Ambrosia. The Earthmoving Supervisor is the conduit of communication between Iluka and the earthmoving contractor, and will have direct input to daily and weekly planning, cost control of earthmoving contractor activities, and ensuring that the earthmoving contractor safely adheres to mining plans and schedules.
This position is based on site at the Jacinth-Ambrosia mine site with full modern camp facilities providing fly in fly out of Adelaide or Ceduna on a family-friendly 8:6 roster with a back-to-back team member.
Reporting directly to the Senior Mining Engineer, the main responsibilities of this role include:
Assisting the technical personnel with developing mining plans and schedulesEnsuring earthworks are executed in line with mining plans and schedulesEnsuring that sufficient ore is delivered to the mining unit to maintain nameplate WCP throughput or higherEnsuring that rehabilitation schedules are adhered to and executed to the specified technical level of qualityMaximising the reserve recovery through collaboration with mining engineers and geologistsAssisting with the development of mining budgets and forecastsAssisting with the monthly earthmoving contractor claims processCompleting daily reviews of earthmoving hourly hire claims, and track cumulative earthworks costs MTDCollaborating with technical and earthmoving contractor personnel to minimise earthmoving costs through optimization of haul routesEnsuring that earthworks requirements are considered and planned into Mining Unit Plant and other infrastructure relocationsAbout You To be successful for this role, you will have:
Proven experience in an earthmoving supervisory role or production mining engineer role at a surface mining or quarrying operationPractical experience in operation of mining earthmoving equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders)Experience in leading and managing earthmoving contractorsExperience working with mining professionals and translating technical plans into operational site instructionsIt will also be beneficial if you have:
