Responsibilities Providing specialist scientific advice on Earth Observation and Remote Sensing applications with an emphasis on environmental monitoring and disaster resilience, water quality monitoring, and agricultural intelligence using in-situ, airborne, and space-based assets. Leading the scientific design and development of space missions and technology programs. Providing technical guidance on current EO and Remote Sensing projects. Providing guidance on mission architectural concepts against end-user requirements. Participating in the scientific review of the organisation's projects for the relevant area of expertise to ensure that these projects are scientifically and methodologically robust. Supporting the organisation's National and International engagement, business development, and collaborative project discussions relevant to EO and Remote Sensing. Minimum Requirements A PhD in a relevant scientific and/or technical field. Experience in research project design for earth observation and remote sensing applications. Experience or familiarity with space mission requirements, design, and development. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with research leaders and researchers and to engage with a variety of key business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Demonstration of the Professional and Personal Attributes and Competencies described elsewhere in the Position Description document. Desired Qualifications Experience working in a Cooperative Research Centre. Demonstrated experience in scientific leadership of large and complex, multi-disciplinary earth observation and remote sensing research projects.
