The Early Years Wellbeing Team Leader is a new and exciting position that requires leadership skills and will be reporting directly to the Senior Manager Early Years.

Organisational Profile
GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based on Gunaikurnai Country in Bairnsdale, Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not for Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC is a child safe agency and has a zero tolerance of abuse or neglect of children and young people.
Position Purpose
The Early Years Wellbeing Team Leader will provide staff with continuous support in the day-to-day operations of the programs they deliver and also coordination and planning of supported playgroup, Aboriginal Best Start, Parawatti Nalu holiday program in a professionally and culturally manner with a high level of understanding and development of education in the Early Years.
Key Selection Criteria

Experience in early childhood education and care, parenting approaches and early childhood development.
Experience in planning and coordinating programs/projects.
Experience in working in cross-cultural settings, working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal culture with the ability to liaise with and support the local Community.
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to relate well to Aboriginal Families and young children.
Effective people management and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to rethink ways of working to creatively solve problems, actively challenge existing ways of doing things and promoting open and constructive feedback.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, support and provide leadership to a staff team.

Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable)

Valid Driver's License ESSENTIAL
Qualification/Training in Early Childhood Development ESSENTIAL
A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with mandatory vaccination directive applying to authorised workers ESSENTIAL
