Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. Greater Shepparton City Council's Children's Services is seeking a full-time Early Childhood – Second in Charge/Educational Leader at Frank Pullar Children's Centre. This role is based in the service office working alongside a full time service leader and administration officer.
The initial hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with an Accrued Day Off (ADO). Start and finish times may vary based on service needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborating with the Service Leader and team to implement a holistic, play-based curriculum.
Fostering an inclusive environment that promotes children's interests, culture, and abilities.
Leading the development of a high-quality educational program.
Supporting the Service Leader in operational requirements.
The service offers 3-year-old and 4-year-old Kindergarten programs, Long Day Care services, and Maternal and Child Health services.
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
Current First Aid – HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting.
Current CPR – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
Current and valid Employee Working with Children Check Card (WWCC).
Protecting Children – Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood.
