Our Journey The Casey Area Mental Health Service is led by an innovative and supportive leadership team that seeks to provide an innovative and recovery-based model of mental health care that will continue to develop with our growing community in the Southeast growth corridor. The Casey Intensive Care Packages Team is made up of experienced mental health clinicians offering speciality support to consumers with identified intensive mental health needs in the community. This service is aimed at providing discipline specific assessment, support and treatment for consumers with a severe/persistent mental illness aged 25 to 65 years.
We are seeking a new Embedded Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Clinician to join our team in Pakenham in a permanent ongoing part-time role working 3 days a week. This position is open to Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Grade 2 Occupational Therapists or Grade 2 Social Workers. There can be flexibility in your working hours.
A Day in the Life As an Embedded AOD Clinician in the Casey Intensive Packages Team, you will provide a range of therapeutic interventions (both individual and group) to consumers who are a part of the team providing outreach support to meet the consumer's needs, including their home, the community and in the clinic, as clinically indicated. The Embedded AOD Clinician would also enhance the capacity of the Intensive Care Packages staff to work with clients with co-morbid substance use.
About You: Social Work: Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work Qualifying OR Masters of Social Work, OR equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Eligible for ordinary membership of AASW (http://www.aasw.asn.au/) Written evidence of eligibility for AASW membership for overseas qualifications is required. Accredited Social Worker and/or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker: As approved by the AASW Occupational Therapy: Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions (cannot have a non-practising registration) Nursing: Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and consent to ongoing registration checks via Monash Health's electronic credentialing system. Minimum of Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing – or completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or specialist post basic course of training which led to registration as a Division 3 nurse. Has at least 3 years full time equivalent mental health post graduate qualification experience in mental health nursing. Demonstrates and maintains the appropriate competencies and skills.
