Murchison Blasting Services is a family run business with over 20 years in the Mining Industry as a Drill & Blast Contractor.
The Role Murchison Blasting Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Drill Coordinator for our Pilbara based Pilgangoora Operation. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role will be offered on an 8/6 roster.

With 22 drills currently on site, the role offers a premier opportunity to showcase your leadership in terms of safety, production, planning, commercial management and client relationships.
Responsibilities Demonstrate & hold expectations to high standards of safety performance across the project. Demonstrate & lead by example a visible commitment to zero harm. Maintain and promote team cohesion with internal and external stakeholders. Provide leadership and direction to a large team of drill operators and support staff. Maximise drill utilisation by maintaining effective systems of work and managing delays and crew movements. Monitor operations to ensure drills are planned to be used effectively and operating to the expected parameters. Manage contractors and their resources in line with commercial agreements in line with the head contract. Manage cost per meter and drilling consumables in line with onsite support, forecasts and effectiveness to ensure performance of cost, penetration rates, operator awareness and education are driving continuous improvement. Provide coaching and training to personnel to help them improve techniques and time management. Work with site Engineering and Survey departments to ensure patterns and blast plans are ready to be drilled and loaded with minimal delay time. Essential skills and experience Extensive experience in drill operations in an open cut environment. Previous experience in a senior leadership role The ability to work autonomously and work well in a demanding environment. Time management skills and ability to identify priorities based on business need, accomplish objectives effectively, in a timely manner. Ability to build valuable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
