Join us on the journey. We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team based at the Australian National University, Canberra. This role will be accountable for the successful delivery of the strategic asset management services for student accommodation, teaching and events spaces. The Operations Manager is predominantly focused on delivering the reactive, corrective and planned preventative maintenance strategy and compliance obligations as stipulated in the contract. The Operations Manager leads a team of tradespersons and works closely with Service Delivery Partners to achieve required outcomes. The Operations Manager's indicative responsibilities also include working closely with key stakeholders, producing recommendation reports for our client to improve building performance in relation to critical infrastructure, life cycle and redundancy across the portfolio.
Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you can also expect to be involved in the advancement of our Australian National University (ANU) contract; from innovating processes, to assisting on a variety of internal projects.
What you'll do Effectively manage the delivery of Reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance Services across the Downer Operations. Ensure contract KPIs are met. Produce accurate Management Reports and meet the expectations of the client. Accurately identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. Coordinate development of annual budgets and forecasts. Manage contract regulatory compliance requirements for technical services including identifying any gaps in compliance. What you'll bring Tertiary qualification in management, building services, facility management, engineering, project management, asset management or trade qualification with equivalent experience in managing a team of tradespersons. Experience in Operations Management, ideally within a Social Infrastructure project environment managing a portfolio or multiple properties, leading both in house and sub-contracted delivery teams. Broad experience in the building/service industry with knowledge of building and service regulation and statutory obligations. Experience in the management, estimating, programming, planning, design, delivery of FM projects and building works. More than anything, you'll have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a drive to provide high quality outcomes for the Social Infrastructure and Citizen Services business unit and our clients.
