Job Description Lead the branch in developing and maintaining a "best in class" pricing strategy to ensure consistent ability to win spot quotes and ongoing quotation requests from new and existing customers, RFQ bids, as well as governance of timely rate card completion, consistently, and accurately every month. This will include ensuring agreed GRI adjustments and updated selling rates are reflected in the latest version of rate cards each month.
Primary focus is on Import Air and Import Ocean transportation with other products to follow.
This position will ensure a standardized pricing team model, encompassing centralized rate management and a centralized way of performing all pricing requests that will ensure speed and accuracy in quote responses is adhered to, while still allowing the branch to achieve consistent profitability and growth of operating income.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the leader for pricing and have regular engagement with the District Management Team on pricing strategy and outcomes. Ownership and timely completion of branch customer rate cards and costings (quotations), which includes adding markup, ensuring all applicable charges are included in the quotation, and sending out once complete to the customer via email. Oversee branch communications, providing timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external). Follow up via Teams or phone call (for urgent requests) if there is no response received within one business day. Improve speed of spot quote turnaround. Understand customer strategies and practices used to procure rates through RFQs, auctions, short-term, and spot quotes. Work with Branch Product and Sales and Account Management to identify and close key targets. Utilize analytical data about pricing effectiveness and performance, conduct reviews with product leaders and relevant teams to review results and improve performance.
