$96,307 - $105,254 a year
We currently have an opportunity for a District Fire Coordinator at our regional headquarters in Albany.
Under the limited supervision of the District Manager, you will:
Be responsible for determining and implementing the district fire management works program in accordance with departmental policy and statutory requirements, coordinate fire resources, and monitor expenditure and cost effectiveness of fire operations.Ensure that pre-planning preparedness levels and standards for bushfire response are met.Carry out allocated roles in the district incident management structure.Provide advice to and assist the Regional Leader, Fire Management.Carry out liaison with stakeholders associated with fire management programs and represent the District Manager at meetings associated with fire management activities.The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
Selection Criteria Considerable competence and experience in the management of fire related activities, including use of prescribed fire to protect, promote and achieve conservation of biodiversity and natural values, protection of community assets and to provide for regeneration.Considerable experience in liaising at a senior level with external organisations including local authorities, private companies, other government agencies, stakeholders and community interest groups, including an ability to work appropriately with the media.Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in leadership and management of work teams, including planning and implementing works programs, scheduling work, setting goals, and controlling and reviewing progress.Considerable experience in the management of training and staff development, and safety and welfare matters relevant to fire management. #J-18808-Ljbffr
