If you answer yes to these questions, you could be the perfect Health Information Manager (HIM) or Clinical Coder to join the professionals at Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). We are looking for an experienced HIM/Clinical Coder who has:
· excellent technical and analytical skills
· the relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management or Clinical Coding qualifications and/or at least five years' experience managing a team
· knowledge and/or experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record (Powerchart), Solventum Encoder, and quality management tools/applications
In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Coding team for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. You will be based at the Wollongong Hospital, and you may need to travel within the district, as required. You will also be involved in preparations for the implementation of EPIC, the Single Digital Patient Record planned for May 2027.

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications and/or proven expertise and experience in a health information management role within a clinical or health related service area. Demonstrated recent experience and competency in using the ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS clinical classification and proven understanding of the relationship between clinical coding, casemix and activity based funding. Demonstrated experience in the management of staff including excellent skills in the management of financial and human resources and the delivery of clinical coding services across an organisation. Proven initiative with high level conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to problem solve, interpret and report on complex information rapidly and accurately. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership and team building qualities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including extensive report writing and verbal presentation skills. Experience in and knowledge of health related patient and clinical information systems. .
