Distribution Centre Operations Manager We are excited to announce we are looking for an experienced Distribution Centre Operations Manager for our National Distribution Centre in Adelaide. The Shoe Group (TSG) is one of Australia's largest shoe retailers with over 200+ stores around Australia with a suite of labels such as Spendless, Corasol, Wildfire, Vybe, Everflex & Olympus Shoes. We are looking for a person who shares their passion, drive, and vision for store growth and providing customer experience excellence.
The Role The Distribution Centre (DC) Operations Manager is accountable for the efficient operation of TSG's National Distribution Centre, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of inventory. You will lead the workforce, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. This role includes managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners and logistics providers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and budgetary constraints. Your ability to balance operational demands with people leadership will be key to success, contributing to TSG's overall mission and values.
The Key Responsibilities Labour and Workload Management: Assess workload to determine staffing needs, adapting schedules and leave to meet demand, especially during peak periods.Inventory Management: Ensure stock levels are accurate, handle replenishments efficiently, and conduct regular stocktakes to maintain inventory integrity.Performance Tracking: Regularly track Distribution Centre (DC) performance and report insights to senior management, providing data-driven recommendations.Innovation: Cultivate a culture of improvement, encouraging the team to propose cost-saving and process enhancement ideas.E-commerce Fulfillment: Manage timely fulfillment of online orders, optimising resources to ensure all orders are dispatched within 24 hours.Leadership and Development: Lead and develop DC staff, conducting regular meetings and reviews to promote a positive, aligned team environment.Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring operational alignment and open communication.Budget and Cost Management: Oversee the DC budget, implementing cost-saving strategies and ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and promptly addressing any incidents.Your required Skills and Experience Leadership: Proven ability to lead large teams and foster a high-performing, positive culture.Analytical Thinking: Strong data analysis skills to support decision-making and operational improvements.Budgeting: Experience in budget management and cost optimisation.Communication: Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills for engaging stakeholders.Innovation and Continuous Improvement: A proactive mindset geared towards fostering innovation and efficiency improvements.Our TSG Values Customer Focus: Dedication to creating exceptional customer experiences.Positive Attitude: Embody a "can-do" approach in all interactions.Respect and Inclusion: Foster an inclusive, fun, and respectful work environment.Empowerment: Support team members to achieve their best, in alignment with TSG's values.Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role, and have the energy and willingness to consistently improve while being an excellent team player leading from the front to be successful!
