About the Role
The Discipline Manager – Mechanical is accountable for capacity, capability and performance of the Mechanical engineering department. The role is responsible for management of mechanical engineering resources across all active projects, as well as pipeline project opportunities. This position may be located in either Carrara QLD, Brisbane QLD or Adelaide, SA. The ideal candidate will envision themselves with duties such as:
Leading a team of Mechanical Engineering services. Provide mentoring and leadership to facilitate continuous professional development.
Liaison with mechanical sub-consultants to ensure appropriate resourcing of projects and delivery of contracted work in accordance with department standards.
Plan, schedule and manage assigned work packages.
Develop engineering documentation/deliverables as part of design projects to an agreed standard and a thorough level of completeness.
Act as the lead mechanical engineer on projects and provide proactive technical leadership ensuring all mechanical deliverables are produced on time, to budget and to an agreed standard.
About You
Bachelor of Engineering or similar level in relevant discipline – Essential.
Registered Engineer Practicing in Queensland (RPEQ) certification – Essential.
Experience in managing and leading teams to set objectives and KPIs - Desirable.
Experience in engineering design and delivery of process plants for the mining industry (e.g. mineral sands, iron ore, coal, base metals) – Essential.
Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills, with sound understanding of other engineering disciplines and how they inter-relate.
Exposure in either construction, commissioning or operation of process and materials handling equipment within a Process Plant – Desirable.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and leadership ability, having impact and influence with the capacity to build professional relationships, foster employee development and teamwork.
